The gods must
be crazy II is a comedian film from south Africa, the N!xau as Xixo, he as main actor, Xi is his nake name, Xi and his tribe survive in the Arid Kalahari
region showed a remarkable life skills. They adapt themselves to the
environment. They know what to do with the environment , such as how to get
water and food.
Seen in their
live that they are pure idealism only survive, because there's nothing else
they do besides food gathering efforts and complement the needs of clothing,
food boards . Make them do not mark the day with calendar.
They live in
groups in small scale . Because living together on a small scale, social strata
and they do not produce legal norms certainly, even they do not know the system
belongs . One principle is that they embraced God created everything for good,
so they did not have any hatred towards other creatures around them.
Xi someday
finds glass bottles. In their civilization glass is something strange and new.
Glass bottle was thrown by aircraft pilots on the mainland across the Kalahari.
While the tribe in the Kalahari call it as God's gift. Glass bottle is the
center of attention and everyone feel the need to use it. Began to emerge
ownership and jealousy. Xi intends to restore the object to God, it brings evil
things to them, and they thought God must have one send it to him.
From here he
was determined to throw the glass to the end of the world, traveling to the
ends of the earth to make it find another civilization outside the Kalahari who
are more complex in their social interactions . There is a kind of culture
shock that he got, ranging from finding animals that ran very fast (car), God (man
with hair colored and have clothes), equality of what is on earth (penalty kill
livestock that does not belong).
While on the
other hand , in this film is also shown that urban life is much more complex
and Heterogenic . As if they do not want to adapt to the environment, they are
trying to adapt the environment to their needs , such as making roads,
buildings , and others. There strata systems and systems that run on a regular
basis and in such designs. Urban residents communicate with a universal
language that everyone can understand. They developed a technology that makes
life and endeavors.
It's a stark
contrast see their life style. I realize that tribe in the Kalahari and
behavior in urban or rural residents are always based on knowledge that can
reliably meet the needs and support the survival of human beings. Which is
often a problem, is the emergence of stereotypes and using different parameters
in assessing other groups outside their group. And if further review, there is
strong reason to encourage such behavior.
Valuable
lessons that I can after watching this movie is empathy for the difference. This
movie made me realize that technological developments are not always
beneficial and effective in facilitating life. Would be a big problem for the
tribe in the Kalahari, problems in social interactions and their environment.
Alluding to
what I mentioned at the beginning of the paragraph, stating that the Future Is
Back is a certainty for me. I have always considered that they are still alive
is as simple as an ancient, civilization of Kalahari is tribes and backward, Now
I realize that they are more advanced knowledge than humans who consider
themselves civilized high. I mean knowledge is knowledge in navigation,
hunting, detecting sources of food, and keep the balance of nature . It's a
very scientific knowledge but can not be explained scientifically by them.
That all
contents of the film, i like watch this film so much, because there are some
funny sense, as what i have told above that the film is comedian film, there
are some important points that interested to watch.
